EMPIRE OF THE SUN
VISION
Empire of the Sun’s Ask That God Tour 2024 expanded the duo’s iconic visual identity into a fully immersive live experience built around spectacle, fantasy, and escapism. Combining surreal environments, theatrical staging, and vibrant electronic energy, the show transformed each performance into a cinematic world that felt both otherworldly and larger than life.
Design and animation work was developed for tracks including Changes, We Are The People, and Revolve. The project encouraged a highly exploratory creative process, pushing beyond conventional approaches and embracing bold, out-of-the-box visual thinking. This freedom allowed for the development of imaginative content that complemented the show’s immersive and larger-than-life atmosphere.
EXECUTION
PROCESS
A blend of After Effects, Cinema 4D, Unreal Engine 5, and CLO 3D was utilized throughout the project to create and refine mesmerizing 3D visuals across the show. Real-time workflows enabled rapid iteration and experimentation, making it possible to quickly develop looping content and vibrant immersive worlds. The combination of tools encouraged a fluid creative process that supported the tour’s surreal and visually expansive atmosphere.
